RHS Brings the North West’s Favourite Flower Show Online with RHS Flower Show Tatton Park at Home, 22 July

Today, the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), the charity behind the North’s Greatest Gardening event announces further plans to bring the much loved flower show online, launching RHS Flower Show Tatton Park ‘At Home’.

In the absence of the ‘physical’ show this year, on Wednesday 22 July, the RHS Website will host an array of fresh and inspirational gardening content that captures the true spirit of the summer show for everyone to enjoy at home with videos, articles and advice from some of the show’s favourite growers, designers and gardening experts.

Back to Back Gardens are always a firm favourite with RHS Tatton Park visitors, providing plenty of innovative take home ideas for smaller garden spaces. In the absence of these popular gardens this year multi-award winning garden designer Pip Probert will be sharing her tips and tricks to make the most out of all outside spaces this summer.

Local North West based nurseries due to be at the show this year will be providing a selection of practical demonstrations, sharing their specialist plant expertise, growing techniques, tips and advice.  Award winning nurseries getting involved include hardy summer perennial experts Holden Clough Nursery, Cheshire based nursery Bluebell Cottage Gardens and this year’s RHS Tatton Master Grower, Plantagogo who specialise in vibrant Heuchera, Heucherella and Tiarella.

For those who visit RHS Tatton Park for the boutique shopping opportunities and to stock up on quality, late summer plants, virtual visitors will be able to explore a shopping directory of nurseries and artisan exhibitors who would have been at the show this year.

RHS Flower Show Tatton Park is well-known for nurturing young talent and launching the careers of aspiring garden designers who take part in the iconic RHS Young Designer of the Year competition. With 70%* of workers considering a career change as a result of the current crisis, former Young Designers will be sharing details of the exciting opportunities and projects they have been working on since taking part in the competition, how they started in the industry and sharing their stories of success to help inspire more people to consider a career in horticulture.

Finally, it wouldn’t be Tatton without celebrating the beautiful grounds of Tatton Park which has hosted the show for over 20 years. This year in the absence of the show, online visitors will be treated to a special video tour of Tatton Park’s famous Japanese Garden by Garden Manager Simon Tetlow as he takes viewers through the historic garden and shares tips on how to incorporate Japanese elements into your own garden at home.

Helena Pettit, RHS Director Shows, says; “We are very excited to be able to bring some of the much loved elements of RHS Flower Show Tatton Park into people’s homes this year and support our friends and exhibitors who help make the show such a success.  We hope people will join us online to celebrate the much loved gardening event and continue to be inspired to garden and grow plants in the absence of the physical show – we can’t wait to return to Tatton Park next year and once again transform the grounds into a fantastic, floral summer celebration!”

RHS Tatton Park at Home will be hosted on the RHS Website on Wednesday 22 July and can be accessed by visiting: rhs.org.uk/tattonathome
