RHS Wisley Visitor Centre Improvements

RHS Wisley Visitor Centre Improvements

Work is now well underway on the first phase of the £80 million investment.

RHS Wisley Visitor Centre

RHS Wisley now welcomes over one million visitors a year, it’s in the top 30 visitor attractions. The RHS staff at Wisley handle the crowds pretty well even on peak days, but it’s clear that the existing visitor infrastructure is near it’s limit.

Looking from the car park, the new entrance will be to the right of the present RHS shop. In place of the present separate facilities, a new co-ordinated centre based on a village square is being created. It will comprise of;

  • Arrivals hall
  • 100 seat restaurant
  • Cafe
  • New shop
  • New indoor plant sales
  • New outdoor plant sales
  • Avenue of 100 Cherry trees

Christopher Bradley-Hole is responsible for the landscape design.

The RHS Library has been relocated to the former gardeners house. The formal restaurant is closed. Other facilities remain open during the work.
